PC vs Laptop: What is the most efficient for home use?

Nowadays, having an electronic gadgets seems like a standard for everyone living on this technology bubble era. One example that we can relate to is electricity.

When you go to your neighbor’s house, you expect that there’s electricity, you expect that there’s a switch for lights and cooling system.

In the same way, Internet and Computers will become as electricity. It will vanish on everyone’s lips just like electricity. We will not talk about computers anymore because soon enough we will expect that in every houses, buildings and establishments there’s computer.

Not to mention, Internet and Computers will become as a need for day to day task which what’s happening right now.

But despite of the knowledge and accessibility to computers, a lot of people are still don’t have computers and laptop in their houses. What are the hindrances of having a computer or laptop?

First, is Mobility and Price, People who don’t rely to much on computers on their day to day activity prefer mobility and smaller gadgets tend to become cheaper compare to heavy desktop computers and laptop.

Smartphone is the obvious champion why people don’t need laptop and computers because we use it through our communication, entertainment and education. Basically, it fits on your pocket and weigh lighter.

On the other hand, We still need computers/laptop for our kids and work. Some applications will not run on smartphones and obviously it’s not the best place to learn the basics.

So for moms and dads out there and employees who wants an efficient computers/laptop on their houses choose first what are you going to do with it.

Clearly, if you’re an outdoor guy and prefer mobility I recommend having a laptop but if you don’t want to use it outside and prefer to have a nice comfy setup for your kids and don’t want to risk your child’s safety for always bringing a laptop to school I recommend buying a desktop and ergo-chair but also you can still choose laptop for home use which is less power consuming.

Why RAM is important to your PC and Gadgets

When my friends asked me.. “How many gigs does your phone have?” First question comes to my mind was, “are you referring to RAM or Internal memory storage?” but due to technical terminologies involved I’ll just say.. “RAM 4GB, Internal 64GB”.

Surprisingly, amazed that my RAM is “4GB” and the term frequently used was, “That’s pretty huge…”.

By the way, that’s what they said.

Now, when it comes to purchasing computers, smartphones or any other gadgets people tend to look for the specs and people will compare RAM capacity with other gadgets.

First, let me ask you, are you the customer that didn’t even care or they just buy because they like the looks and just pretend that such term RAM are for geeks? You’d be surprise that RAM per se is a big deal for most people who aren’t even tech savvy.

On the other hand, when we talk about RAM also known as Random Access Memory, memory used to buffer or store running applications on your gadgets while your processor is doing its job, RAM basically the queuing space (first in first out) before processor will be feed in.

In a sense, the bigger the RAM capacity, the more applications you can process and open simultaneously.

In addition, customized-desktop PCs that especially build for gaming, people tend to do hours of research for RAM capabilities and what will certainly fits for their system build. The Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 is the great choice for gaming, content creation and video editing using a single stick can be paired up with another stick with the same specs (8×2) equally to 16GB of RAM.

hx_fury-DDR4_detail

The Kingston HyperX Fury is compatible on both Intel and AMD platforms, and has been tested on some of the most popular brands of motherboards, so you’ll never have a hard time installing and using it for your gaming PC. With its 8GB capacity, the RAM has enough room for your games, and some other applications you need on the background. Latest games require 4GB at the minimum; with that, you shouldn’t have any problems playing anymore.

Dual-channel Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 (8×2) will definitely outperform the single stick of 16GB. But if you don’t want to spend a little bit coins for another stick, 8GB is the best sweet spot to rely on.

Apple has been recently surprising people with its influx of new releases such as the iPhone 6, followed immediately by the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6 plus, and its newest release, the iPhone SE.

Many apple users were impressed by the new iPhone SE for its features and price, but what people don’t know yet is that they are up for a much bigger deal. We have compiled the vast spreading leaks of this phone and the big news about its features and design.

iPhone 7 is the latest gadget that Apple has been working on for the past year. With the release of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S last September 2015, they are here for their biggest comeback yet. With the improved design and structure of the new iPhone 7, technology enthusiasts would surely be overwhelmed with this smartphone.

Display

A 4.7-inch display iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 plus with a 5.5-inch display are what’s causing the big wildfire of rumors nowadays. The smartphones are said to be thinner than all iPhones released so far which is a convenience to most people who dislikes the weight of the previous iPhones.

Battery and Screen size

A better battery life and high screen resolution are also said to be possible for the new iPhone as Apple aims to release a brand new package for its users.

Storage

Surprisingly, a 16-Gigabite and 64-Gigabite storage offering is not anymore applicable to this smartphone. The iPhone 7, and the iPhone 7 plus are rumored to have 32GB as their lowest storage offering, followed immediately by 128GB and 256GB top end, which would be just enough for the users to have plenty of space for their photos and files as the new iPhone 7 would have its default operation system to iOS 10.

Features

It is also said to have a USB- C port, similar to that of Macbook Pro’s. The home button is also a much better improvement for this iPhone.

Most iPhone users have their home button damaged for it most likely becomes pressed in deep and are therefore disfunctional, but the new iPhone 7 has turned its home button into a touch sensitive surface. It is now perfectly level with the rest of the phone, thus, discarding the need for it to be pressed in.

Dual-Camera

The iPhone 7 also offers a 12MP camera for those high quality photos and videos. But that is not all. Apple decides to add a twist to its game. The iPhone 7 plus comes in an option wherein, unlike all the iPhones aforementioned and released, it equips a dual-camera for a better capturing experience for the users.

This will give the photos better quality and is said to feature an optical zoom with 2-3x magnification. The dual-camera also has a wider field of view unlike the standard lens. This feature is achieved with the technology procured from LinX. Apple has purchased LinX for this extraordinary new addition to their smartphones.

Rumors

Rumors say that iPhone 7 would also be waterproof, as to counter their rival’s popular release, the Samsung S7. This iPhone is also said to allow wireless charging for the users to avoid the hassle of having to replace their lightning cables every once in a while. It also has, reportedly, no headphone jack which forces the users to make use of a wireless bluetooth headphones.

Colors

Apple allegedly dropped the issue and skipped the iPhone 7S version for this edition of their smartphone. The iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 plus are said to come in new colors: Space Black, and Deep Blue. But it has retained the same colors as those of the iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, and iPhone 6 Plus: Silver, Gold, Space gray, and Rose gold.

How to build a PC – Introduction

Years ago, building a PC requires you some technical knowledge and experience on how to combine parts to another, we tend to ask our neighbor to ask for help etc.  But now in our technical age where Google, Blogs and YouTube are everywhere. It’s funny and amazing that these are the key that unlocks our mind to learn more about latest technologies.

Before we dive through the deep sea of PC terminologies which we’re going to discuss. Ask yourself first, what type of PC are going to build. Is it for Gaming? content creation? Video editing?

Or maybe you just want to build it for yourself for a certain budget. Luckily, you’ve come to the right place! Yes, This may be a lot of work but I’m here to guide you through the basics up to advance setup (featuring my own personal PC build!)

Ultimate Budget Gaming Build PC
Ultimate Budget Gaming Build PC

First, please think of your basic computer parts,

Monitor, CPU, Keyboard, Mouse, Speaker .. hmm what else?

None?

Some of you might say that’s a CPU or PC.

Basically, for those who didn’t know yet that box is not just the CPU itself. It’s composed a lot of parts. The Body that holds the parts intact, together with its Heart, Memory and Brain.

and a term PC basically it’s just another term for Personal Computer that which also include your own personal monitor, keyboard, mouse with some personal accessories like your speakers, printers, headphones etc.

so if you’re going to ask me what is that box, I prefer to call it either as a PC or CPU well for the sake of identification let’s call it PC.

You may want to open that box later on and then review it but please take extra precaution because some parts are fragile and some parts may shock you (Literally, Static discharge)

Here’s the list of parts inside your PC that you should remember, this will also help you to identify the functions of each items once you buy your own personalize PC.

1.) Motherboard

This is the mothership of your PC. Well obviously not a literal mothership but it basically holds and serves as a medium to connect processor, memory, gpu and your I/O (Input/Output). Which we will discuss later on.

2.) Processor

This is the brain of your PC. There are billions of switches moves back and forth inside it. small as nano-meter. Well again obviously not a literal switch but it actually process information whatever we feed in. Look for Intel processors and AMD processors.

3.) RAM (Memory)

This is the capacity of PC’s brain to hold certain information before it can be process. In other words, the size of your RAM (4GB- 120GB) matters. Choose between 8GB – 64GB RAM, it allows you to have a room for never-ending new tab application on your browsers, games and video editing process, It follows a sequence of First-In, First-Out.

4.) GPU (Graphics Card)

This is the second head of your PC. Since this is the other head, it also has its own brain that focuses primarily on the graphics, frame speed per seconds (fps) and rendering speed for your games or video editing.

5.) HDD (Hard disk drive) / SSD

This is where your files are being stored. If you’re about to big capacity storage, go for HDD but if you’re after the speed, which basically high speed read/write transfer to your PC-to-External Drive, faster loading speed from turn on to your desktop I highly suggest go for SSD.

However, you can always go for both, which is SSD for OS storage and HDD for your files, movies and applications.

6.) Power supply

This is the Heart of your system, it supplies all required voltages for the parts we’ve mentioned above. This is the most important part of our PC. I would suggest that buy from a reputable manufacturers like Seasonic, Corsair, Cooler Master, EVGA and please never use the Generic power supply that comes free with your Case.

7.) Case

This part is yours. I don’t want to suggest any size of cases. It’s on your own preferences. For me, I am a sucker for looks, minimalist approach with premium build quality and you can see it on my build that there’s still a lot of room for upgrade-ability of my system which is I always think of. Especially now a days high end video cards tend to become bigger as they get better.

You’ve earned your blanket of the Basics! Wrap it up! And let’s dive in through

How to build a PC – 4 basic things you need to know first before building a PC
